Primary Therapist – Dual Diagnosis (Full‑time)

About the role

The Dual Diagnosis Therapist provides clinical care for adults with both substance use disorders and co‑occurring mental health conditions. The role involves comprehensive diagnostic assessment, individualized treatment planning, and ongoing case management for clients aged 18 and older.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clinical responsibility for therapeutic treatment of clients with severe and persistent substance use and mental health problems.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments, develop and update treatment plans, and ensure all documentation receives supervisor signature.
• Manage caseload efficiently, keeping inactive cases below 10% of the total.
• Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and continuing education activities.
• Facilitate referrals to internal and external resources as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, counseling, social work or a related behavioral/mental health field from an accredited university.
• Current, valid license/associate number to practice as a therapist in the State of California and CPR certification.
• At least one year of experience in a treatment setting working with adults who have severe substance use and mental health disorders (preferred).
