Principal Planner

About the role

The Principal Planner will lead the planning and scheduling function for large‑scale EPCIC projects in the oil and gas sector. Working independently, you will interpret complex business issues, develop robust schedules, and provide guidance to junior planners.

Key responsibilities

• Perform schedule analysis using Primavera P6, Deltek Fuse & Risk, and Microsoft Project.
• Create and maintain baseline schedules during project initiation and setup.
• Facilitate multi‑discipline scope reviews and conduct detailed schedule quality checks.
• Update physical progress from EVMS systems and produce workforce histograms, progress curves, and variance reports.
• Maintain level‑3 and level‑4 activity schedules for marine installation projects (pipelines, subsea, platforms, HDD) following precedence‑flow planning.
• Monitor critical path, identify delays, and recommend recovery actions.
• Mentor junior planners and lead functional teams or projects as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Business Management or equivalent.
• 10‑15 years of EPCIC experience on onshore/offshore oil & gas or power generation projects.
• Fluent in Chinese.
• Proven experience with large LNG or topside fabrication projects is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Experience with Deltek Fuse & Risk.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Advanced Excel skills (dynamic tables, formulas, histograms, curves).
• Familiarity with EVMS systems and Microsoft Office suite.
