Printed Circuit Board Designer

About the role

The Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a Printed Circuit Board Designer to join its hardware development team. You will work in an EDA software environment, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers to create cutting‑edge PCB designs for space applications.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with electrical engineers to design class‑3 space PCB layouts, including rigid, rigid‑flex, and flex circuits.
• Develop high‑speed digital, high‑power, analog, and RF board designs.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers to ensure board dimensions, keep‑outs, and overall fit.
• Participate in all hardware development phases: schematic capture, layout, fabrication, and assembly.
• Review footprints and 3D models with the library team for correct part fitment.
• Collaborate with senior PCB technologists on stack‑up, power integrity, and signal integrity.
• Work with PCB manufacturers on design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) considerations.
• Assist in creating PWA drawings and documentation.

Required profile

• Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent electronics experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components and their functions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or other U.S. person status.
