Program Associate, Strategic Impact Evaluation and Learning

About the role

The Program Associate, Strategic Impact Evaluation and Learning (SIEL) supports a six‑year learning partnership between the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), IPA and J‑PAL. Working within IPA’s Sector Programs department, the role helps build a robust evidence base for FCDO’s global programmes and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the competitive research funding process, draft calls for proposals, manage review panels and oversee grant agreement development (≈40%).
• Track grant and project performance, maintain up‑to‑date records in Salesforce and ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
• Support the Program Lead in project development, conduct outreach to FCDO teams, and facilitate matchmaking between researchers, IPA and J‑PAL country offices (≈30%).
• Assist the Research Uptake and Capacity Strengthening leads in preparing dissemination materials, updating the IPA website and supporting events (≈20%).
• Provide general programme administration, financial monitoring and contribute to IPA’s diversity, equity and inclusion tracking (≈10%).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, public policy or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of experience in project or research management, research fund administration or research dissemination.
• Strong attention to operational detail and proven project‑management abilities.
