Program Associate – Uganda (2‑month consultancy)

About the role

The International Center for Transitional Justice is looking for a motivated Program Associate to support its Uganda office for a two‑month consultancy. Based in Kampala, the associate will work closely with the Head of Office to advance research, capacity‑building and programme planning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal and comparative research, draft monthly situation reports, memos, country papers and other publications.
• Organise and facilitate workshops, liaise with stakeholders, support advocacy and provide technical advice.
• Assist the Head of Office in preparing project proposals, work plans and budgets.
• Perform additional duties related to programme implementation as required.

Required profile

• University degree or higher‑education certificate in administration, social sciences, human rights, law, journalism or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum two years of professional experience in project coordination for an NGO, community organisation or government agency.
• Knowledge of transitional justice or human‑rights contexts is an asset.
• Excellent English and proficiency in at least one local language (e.g., Swahili, Luganda).
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast‑moving environment.
