Program Officer

About the role

The Program Officer will support the Program Manager in delivering the STRIDES (Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems) activity in Uganda. This role ensures efficient project planning, execution, monitoring, and compliance with budget and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing annual workplans and tracking performance against timelines, budget, and deliverables.
• Coordinate internal project meetings, follow up on actions, and maintain project documentation.
• Prepare project deliverables, reports, and update tracking sheets, dashboards, and budget analyses.
• Facilitate communication between operations, finance, and program teams to ensure seamless logistics and payments.
• Identify and elevate implementation issues to senior leadership and support resolution.
• Maintain stakeholder communication schedules and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in program or project management, preferably in health or international development.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and meet deadlines.
