Program Officer – Project Coordination

About the role

The Program Officer will support the EpiC Uganda project by coordinating technical activities, monitoring sub‑award performance, and ensuring compliance with USG regulations and FHI 360 policies. This role acts as a bridge between technical teams, partners, finance, procurement, and M&E functions.

Key responsibilities

• Track and support implementation of workplans, activity approval requests, and payment forms, digitising workflows where possible.
• Develop, modify and manage sub‑awards, monitor partner reporting, verify milestones and maintain monitoring trackers.
• Disseminate compliance guidance, support supervision visits, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical guidance, ensure quality of documentation, and synthesize information for internal reporting.
• Coordinate with finance, grants, and M&E teams to ensure timely fund release and performance reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, International Development, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in donor‑funded program management, preferably USG‑funded health programs.
• Demonstrated experience with sub‑award management, compliance monitoring and workplan tracking.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with project tracking systems and digital workflow tools (e.g., DPA, SharePoint).
• Familiarity with virtual collaboration platforms such as Skype, Zoom or Teams.
