Programme Associate (G-6) – Temporary 3-month contract

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Programme Associate (G‑6) on a three‑month temporary appointment in Kampala, Uganda. The incumbent will support the planning, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF programmes, working closely with programme, operations, finance and supply teams as well as external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in project planning, execution and monitoring for assigned initiatives.
• Coordinate partnership management processes, including risk assessments, due diligence, PSEA and micro‑assessment checks.
• Support funding authorization and Certificate of Expenditures (FACE) requests to ensure alignment with work plans and timely processing.
• Monitor prompt liquidation of Direct Cash Transfer (DCT) payments.
• Collect, analyse and report qualitative and quantitative programme data to inform evidence‑based decisions.
• Provide administrative support for budget tracking, reporting and compliance with UNICEF rules.

Required profile

• Under supervision, able to exercise judgment and anticipate programme needs.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in data collection and analysis.
• Good understanding of partnership coordination and risk‑assessment procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal units and external stakeholders.
