Programme Associate (G-6) – Temporary (3 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Programme Associate (G‑6) on a three‑month temporary appointment in Kampala, Uganda. The incumbent will provide specialised programme and administrative support to ensure effective planning, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF’s initiatives, working closely with programme, operations, finance and partner teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support overall project planning, execution and monitoring for assigned initiatives.
• Assist in establishing partnership management processes, including risk assessments, due‑diligence, PSEA and micro‑assessment checks.
• Coordinate funding authorisation and Certificate of Expenditures (FACE) requests to align with work plans and ensure timely processing.
• Monitor prompt liquidation of Direct Cash Transfer (DCT) payments.
• Collect, analyse and report qualitative and quantitative programme data to inform evidence‑based decisions.
• Liaise regularly with internal units (Programme, Operations, Finance, Supply) and external partners such as government ministries, NGOs and donors.

Required profile

• Under supervision, provides specialised programme and administrative support.
• Demonstrates sound judgment, anticipates needs and recommends actions to improve programme delivery.
• Experience in data analysis, budget tracking and reporting within an international development context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and adhere to UNICEF’s rules and procedures.
