Programme Management Intern

About the role

The Office of Internal Oversight Services – Inspection and Evaluation Division (OIOS‑IED) in Entebbe, Uganda, is offering a 3‑6 month internship in programme management. The role provides hands‑on experience supporting independent inspections and evaluations that assess the relevance, efficiency and effectiveness of United Nations programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist on ongoing evaluation projects such as the MINUSCA Electoral Affairs Service, Quick Impact Projects in peacekeeping missions, and thematic evaluation of digital transformation.
• Conduct background research, summarize data and support the collection, organization and analysis of qualitative and quantitative information.
• Take detailed notes of stakeholder interviews, screen and organize documents from UN entities, and program online surveys.
• Perform statistical or geospatial analyses, develop and test databases and dashboards, and clean and code data.
• Visualize findings using MS Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI, and contribute to the review and editing of evaluation products.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed a graduate‑level programme.
• Strong analytical mindset with interest in international and intergovernmental work.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and communicate clearly in English.
