Project Assistant – Community Development

About the role

The Project Assistant will support the implementation of community‑based projects in Bugiri, working closely with partner villages and the Raising The Village team to improve household income and reduce extreme poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate project design review meetings with partner villages and provide feedback to update designs and budgets.
• Co‑facilitate training sessions on financial literacy, health, sanitation, agriculture, livestock care, and other community topics.
• Implement project methodologies, develop procurement lists, verify goods, and support distribution.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation measures.
• Prepare weekly work plans, field reports, and financial requests for the Project Manager.
• Participate in staff and cluster meetings, share photographs for data repositories, and contribute to donor reporting.
• Provide feedback to improve project approaches and suggest sustainable activities.

Required profile

• University degree in Community Development, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Work or related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in community development programs, project management, facilitation or leadership.

Required skills

• Strong training and facilitation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
