Project Assistant – Implementation

About the role

The Project Assistant will support the Implementation team in delivering community‑based projects that increase household income and reduce extreme poverty. Working primarily in Rubanda, you will coordinate training, manage logistics, and ensure project compliance on the ground.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate project design review meetings with partner villages and provide feedback on designs and budgets.
• Co‑facilitate training sessions covering financial literacy, behavior change, water and sanitation, village savings and loans, agriculture, livestock management, and health outreach.
• Prepare and submit procurement lists, verify goods before distribution, and support community groups during implementation.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation measures, and conduct regular performance meetings with community leaders.
• Develop work plans, produce weekly field reports, assist with donor reporting and proposal writing, and manage weekly financial requests.
• Document activities with photographs for the project’s data repository.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in project implementation or community development.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Fluency in Rukiga, Runyankole, Rufumbira, Runyoro, and Rutooro.
