About the role
The Project Assistant will support Raising The Village’s community‑based initiatives in Masindi, helping to design, implement and monitor projects that aim to increase household income and reduce extreme poverty. You will work closely with partner villages, local leaders and the project team to ensure activities are delivered effectively and sustainably.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct project design review meetings with partner villages and provide feedback to update designs and budgets.
- Coordinate and co‑facilitate trainings on financial literacy, health, sanitation, agriculture, livestock care, savings groups and other topics.
- Implement RTV’s project methodologies to achieve income‑generation and poverty‑reduction goals.
- Prepare and submit lists of required goods and services to procurement, and verify inputs before distribution.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to community groups and households to ensure compliance and continuity.
- Identify risks, propose mitigation measures and recommend improvements.
- Organise regular meetings with community leaders to discuss performance and perceptions.
- Develop and manage work plans, produce weekly field reports and assist with donor reporting and proposal writing.
- Attend weekly staff and cluster meetings, submit financial requests and maintain documentation, including photographs for data repositories.
- Offer feedback to the Project Officer and Manager to improve methodologies and suggest new sustainable activities.
Required profile
- University degree in Community Development, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Work or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in community development programmes, project management, facilitation or leadership.
- Strong training and facilitation abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
