Project Assistant (Mbale)

About the role

The Project Assistant will support Raising The Village’s community‑development initiatives in Mbale and surrounding partner villages. Working closely with project teams and local leaders, the role focuses on implementing project designs, facilitating trainings, and ensuring compliance with project methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct project design review meetings with partner villages and provide feedback to update designs and budgets.
• Co‑facilitate training activities such as financial literacy, water and sanitation, village savings and loans, agriculture, livestock management, and health outreach.
• Implement RTV’s project methodologies to increase household income and reduce extreme poverty.
• Prepare and submit lists of required goods and services to the procurement officer and verify inputs before distribution.
• Provide follow‑up support to community groups and households to ensure project compliance and sustainability.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation measures, and recommend improvements.
• Organise regular meetings with community leadership to discuss performance and perceptions.
• Develop and manage work plans, complete weekly field reports, and support donor reporting and proposal writing.
• Submit weekly financial requests and accountabilities to the Project Manager.
• Capture photographs for data repositories and share feedback with the project team.

Required profile

• University degree in Community Development, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Work, or related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in community development programs, project management, facilitation, or leadership.
