Project Assistant – Multiple Locations (Kakumiro, Uganda)

About the role

Raising The Village is seeking motivated Project Assistants to support implementation of poverty‑reduction programmes across several districts in Uganda, including Kakumiro. You will work directly with partner villages, facilitate trainings, and ensure project activities are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct project design review meetings with partner villages and provide feedback for design and budget updates.
• Coordinate and co‑facilitate trainings on financial literacy, behaviour change, water & sanitation, village savings and loans, agriculture, livestock care and health outreach.
• Implement RTV’s project methodologies to increase household income and reduce extreme poverty.
• Prepare and submit procurement lists; verify goods and inputs before distribution.
• Provide follow‑up support to community groups and households to ensure compliance and sustainability.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation measures and recommend improvements.
• Organise regular performance meetings with community leaders and RTV leadership.
• Develop and manage work plans; produce weekly field reports and assist with donor reporting and proposal writing.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in project implementation or community development.
• Willingness to travel up to 80 % of the time to remote villages.
• Fluency in local languages (Runyoro, Rutooro, Runyankole, Kinyarwanda, etc.).
• Ability to conduct trainings and engage community members effectively.
• Basic reporting and data‑collection skills.
