Project Controls Engineer

About the role

The Project Controls Engineer will support a 24‑month construction program in Kampala, Uganda, overseeing cost and schedule performance for a U.S. Government contract. The role requires close coordination with the Project Director and contract staff to ensure timely and accurate project control documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the OBO field office’s cost and schedule reporting, preparing regular control documents and reports.
• Supervise data‑entry and documentation control specialists.
• Control contractor submittals, requests for information, and as‑built drawings.
• Review monthly payment applications and advise the Project Director/COR on findings.
• Evaluate contract modification requests and support negotiations.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and assist in preparing Independent Government Estimates.
• Maintain daily construction logs, minutes of meetings, and coordinate with project staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience in commercial construction project controls.
• Overseas construction experience and knowledge of International Codes.
• U.S. citizenship with a Secret security clearance and eligibility for Top Secret.
