Project Coordinator – GREEN Project (NGO)

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the 28‑month GREEN Project, overseeing its strategic direction, technical implementation and compliance with donor requirements. This senior position reports to the Programmes Director/Country Director and works closely with partners, consultants and field teams across 16 districts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and technical leadership for the GREEN Project, ensuring alignment with the approved proposal, logical framework, work plan and budget.
• Manage programme implementation, translating the action into detailed annual, quarterly and monthly plans, monitoring milestones, and ensuring timely reporting to donors and partners.
• Coordinate partners, third‑party implementers, consultants and service providers, overseeing performance, compliance and risk mitigation across finance, procurement, MEAL and safeguarding.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in agriculture, NTFP or market development, with at least 5 years at senior technical level, preferably in Uganda or East Africa.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑partner programmes, grants/sub‑grants, and consortium arrangements.

Required skills

• Strong project financial management and procurement oversight, including budgeting, forecasting, value‑for‑money analysis and audit readiness.
• Expertise in market‑systems development, MSME/enterprise development, value‑chain analysis and linking enterprises to finance and market opportunities.
