Project Coordinator – Livelihood (Uganda)

About the role

The Project Coordinator – Livelihood will support the design and implementation of livelihood interventions in Kasese, Uganda. Working closely with the Programme Manager and technical teams, the coordinator ensures activities are delivered on time, within budget and to high quality standards while safeguarding children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of livelihood intervention strategies and detailed implementation plans for the Kasese region.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement, geographic targeting and selection of vulnerable community members.
• Oversee procurement, delivery of materials and mobilisation of community‑based volunteers.
• Support business development services, financial inclusion strategies and linkages with micro‑enterprise providers.
• Monitor activities, ensure compliance with safeguarding protocols and report progress to the Programme Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, economics, community development or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in youth or adult livelihood programmes, including training delivery.
• Proven experience working with local NGOs and implementing small‑scale enterprise or agro‑pastoral projects.
• Strong understanding of micro‑enterprise, business development services and career counselling.
• Excellent oral and written English and solid leadership and stakeholder‑influence skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and build relationships with youth (15‑24 years).
• Valid motorcycle licence and ability to ride a motorcycle for field work.
