Project Officer – Land Titling

About the role
The Project Officer – Land Titling will support field‑level implementation of Raising The Village’s land tenure and registration initiative in remote Ugandan communities. Reporting to the Project Manager, the officer will coordinate community mobilisation, land mapping, verification and documentation activities across assigned districts.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with day‑to‑day implementation of land mapping, verification and registration activities in line with project plans.
- Mobilise and sensitize community members, local leaders and households about the land registration process, timelines and requirements.
- Organise and facilitate community meetings, boundary walks and verification exercises, ensuring strong participation.
- Identify and flag implementation bottlenecks, delays or risks to the Project Manager promptly.
- Maintain respectful working relationships with Area Land Committees, customary leaders, local council officials and district land office staff, supporting coordination between statutory and customary land governance actors.
Required profile
- 2–4 years of experience in field‑based project implementation or land governance.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and comfort working in remote settings.
- Solid working knowledge of local land governance processes.
- Willingness to travel 60–80% within project districts.
