Risk and Compliance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Manager Risk and Compliance to lead the development, implementation and oversight of our risk management framework and compliance programme. The role will ensure that risk policies, appetite, tolerances and reporting mechanisms are aligned with the organisation’s activities and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Statement, risk policies and tolerances.
• Communicate and embed the RMF across the organisation and administer governance processes, including a consolidated Risk Register.
• Ensure compliance with the ALCO Charter, Finance Manual and other governing policies.
• Oversee financial risk management, reporting to stakeholders and analysis of key performance indicators for strategic decision‑making.
• Develop, manage and evaluate performance reports in line with HR policies and identify training needs for staff.
• Implement and regularly review the institution’s risk management system, business continuity plan and risk‑conscious culture.
• Identify, assess and monitor compliance risks, maintain an inventory of applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Report internal, regulatory or statutory compliance breaches and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in risk management and compliance within a multi‑national or humanitarian organisation.
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks, risk appetite, risk registers and business continuity planning.
• Ability to communicate risk concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in analysing performance indicators and supporting strategic decisions.
• Leadership skills to train staff and promote a risk‑aware culture.
