Sales Representative

About the role

The Sales Representative will drive growth for SMARTEC ELECTRONICS LTD by promoting a range of security solutions to new and existing clients in Kampala and surrounding areas. You will act as the primary point of contact for prospects, delivering tailored proposals and ensuring smooth hand‑over to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities for security services through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold calling.
• Promote the company's security solutions, including manned guarding, alarm response, CCTV surveillance, access control, and related services.
• Conduct client visits and security needs assessments to understand customer requirements.
• Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, quotations, and proposals.
• Negotiate contracts and close sales in line with company policies and pricing guidelines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to encourage repeat business and client retention.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by management.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts and activity reports.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities.
• Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to service delivery.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries, complaints, and requests for information.
• Represent the company at networking events, exhibitions, and business meetings.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience with at least 2 years of proven sales success, preferably in security services or related sectors.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the ability to understand and address client needs.
• Self‑motivated and results‑driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Required skills
