About the role

PEAS is recruiting a School Improvement Officer to support the Mastercard Foundation – Leaders in Teaching (LiT) project in Uganda. The role works closely with school leaders, inspectors and local government stakeholders to strengthen secondary school quality and drive systemic improvement. It involves field‑based work with extensive travel to schools and communities.

Key responsibilities

Support school inspections and develop School Improvement Plans (SIPs).
Coach and mentor school leaders and inspectors.
Monitor progress of SIPs and report on outcomes.
Deliver training and capacity‑building activities for educators.
Assist with data collection, reporting and overall project implementation.

Required profile

Degree in Education or a related field.
Experience in school leadership or education management.
Strong knowledge of Uganda’s education system and inspection processes.
Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
Willingness to travel extensively to schools and communities.
