Senior Backend Developer - ERP & Microservices (6-Month Contract)

About the role

Tricsoft Technologies is looking for an experienced backend developer to join its engineering team on a full-time, 6-month development contract based in Kampala. The successful candidate will work closely with the engineering team to develop and deliver scalable, production-ready ERP and enterprise software solutions. Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional experience in backend development.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing ERP or enterprise business management systems.
• Strong practical experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Ability to take ownership of backend components and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Available full-time for the entire 6-month contract, starting immediately; part-time or occasional freelance work is not considered.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Python and Django.
• Working knowledge of Java and Java-based backend development.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, API integration, authentication and backend security.
• Strong knowledge of database design, SQL, data modelling and performance optimisation.
• Understanding of SDLC and software development best practices.
• Experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative development workflows.
• Relevant ERP experience in finance and accounting, procurement, inventory and warehousing, HR, manufacturing, sales and customer management, reporting and BI, workflow and approval systems, document and records management, role-based access control.
• Microservices experience: designing and developing independent backend services, REST APIs, inter-service integration, authentication and authorisation, error handling, logging and monitoring, API gateways, scalability and performance.

Added advantage: experience developing software for pharmaceutical, healthcare, hospital, laboratory, financial services or other regulated industries, and familiarity with GxP, regulatory or audit-driven systems.
