Senior Officer - Data Quality Assurance

About the role

The Senior Officer will lead the design, implementation and oversight of data collection and quality assurance processes for Raising The Village, ensuring data is reliable, compliant and aligned with organisational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee end‑to‑end data collection processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance and alignment with organisational standards.
• Design and maintain data aggregation wireframes, SOPs and a centralized data repository to guarantee data quality, integrity and accessibility.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for contractors and M&E staff on ethical data handling, security and compliance.
• Drive research and development of innovative data collection technologies, aligning them with SDGs and national development agendas.
• Provide strategic oversight, mentorship and performance management for the Data Quality Assurance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in M&E, social sciences, economics, computer science, mathematics or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of practical experience in data management, M&E and project management, preferably in development or non‑profit settings.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French and Kiswahili is highly desirable.
• Post‑graduate qualification in M&E or a related area is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and R for data pipeline development.
• Experience with SurveyCTO, Comcare or Survey123 data collection platforms.
• Knowledge of relational database systems.
• Familiarity with GIS tools such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
