About the role
The Senior School Support Officer will work across Uganda to strengthen secondary schools participating in the Mastercard Foundation Leaders in Teaching (LiT) project. Reporting to the School Improvement Supervisor, the role involves extensive travel to schools, collaborating with leaders, inspectors and local authorities to raise education quality.
Key responsibilities
- Support school inspections and the development of School Improvement Plans (SIPs).
- Coach and mentor school leaders and inspectors on improvement strategies.
- Monitor progress of SIPs and report on outcomes.
- Deliver training sessions and capacity‑building activities for school staff.
- Collect data, prepare reports and assist with overall project implementation.
Required profile
- A degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience in school leadership, education management or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of Uganda’s education system and inspection processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the country.
