Senior Supply Chain Officer

About the role

The Senior Supply Chain Officer is a key member of the country management team in Kampala, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. The role ensures effective supply chain support that complies with IRC policies, donor regulations, and local laws, covering procurement, transport, inventory, asset management, reporting and technical assistance to field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Programs and Finance to integrate operational systems and maintain internal controls.
• Work with the Supply Chain Manager to standardise supply chain structures and implement IRC policies.
• Deliver site‑specific training so staff have the knowledge required for their responsibilities.
• Maintain and update donor guidelines related to procurement and assets.
• Monitor supply‑chain budgets, track expenditures and provide timely budgetary comments.
• Prepare and submit donor asset reports and ensure timely disposal in line with export‑control requirements.
• Conduct vendor eligibility screening, keep supplier files up‑to‑date and ensure compliance with spending thresholds.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supply chain operations within an international or humanitarian context.
• Strong knowledge of donor regulations, asset management and compliance requirements.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with program, finance and logistics teams.
• Experience monitoring budgets, preparing reports and managing supplier relationships.
