Senior Technical Sales Specialist – Laboratory Diagnostics

About the role

Optima Africare is seeking a Senior Technical Sales Specialist to expand the adoption of its laboratory diagnostic portfolio across Uganda and the wider region. The role combines technical expertise with sales acumen to identify new business opportunities and build lasting relationships with healthcare institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive growth of laboratory diagnostic solutions in hospitals, clinical labs, research institutes, NGOs and government programs.
• Identify, develop and manage new business opportunities and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
• Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations and customer training sessions.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals tailored to client needs.
• Gather market intelligence, competitor insights and customer feedback to inform strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Biotechnology or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in medical diagnostics or in‑vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry.
• Established network within Uganda’s healthcare sector and/or neighboring countries.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with laboratory managers, pathologists, clinicians and procurement teams.
