About the role
Save the Children International is seeking a Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) Officer to provide technical leadership for integrating SRHR, gender equality, disability inclusion and safeguarding into the Youth Resilience Project in Kasese District, Uganda. The role focuses on removing barriers to youth employment and enterprise through health‑related interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead implementation of SRHR, gender, safeguarding and social inclusion activities across all project pathways, including wage employment, group enterprise and TVET programmes.
- Develop and roll‑out SRHR and Gender Integration Packages for employers and TVET institutions and establish workplace referral systems.
- Build capacity of employers, TVET instructors, apprenticeship supervisors and community partners on youth‑friendly SRHR, gender‑responsive programming, disability inclusion and safeguarding.
- Coordinate partnerships with district health teams, health facilities, employers and youth groups, and represent Save the Children in district‑level coordination forums.
- Monitor activity plans, collect SRHR indicators, prepare technical reports and ensure compliance with financial and safeguarding procedures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, midwifery, community health, social sciences, development studies, gender studies or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience implementing SRHR or adolescent sexual and reproductive health programmes, preferably integrated with youth livelihoods or education.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity‑strengthening, training delivery and working with government health systems, NGOs and community structures.
- Strong planning, reporting, coordination and facilitation skills, with ability to work in a multicultural international environment.
