Site Engineer (M/F) – Uganda

About the role

The Site Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring construction activities to ensure works are executed safely, efficiently, within schedule and budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site construction activities.
• Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor productivity and resource utilization, including labour, equipment, and materials.
• Support planning and execution of construction schedules and work fronts.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and promote a strong safety culture on site.
• Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to achieve project objectives.
• Monitor quality of works and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Identify technical issues and propose practical solutions to maintain project progress.
• Support material planning and site logistics coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Registered Graduate Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) – advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, or large‑scale civil works projects.
• Experience in earthworks, concrete structures, roadworks, or civil construction – advantage.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, HSE requirements, and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with project management tools.
