Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate Disabilities)

About the role

The Renaissance Academy is seeking a Special Education Resource Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year to support students with mild to moderate disabilities across K‑12. The role involves delivering tailored instruction and ensuring an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and adapt daily instruction (8 hrs) for students with mild/moderate disabilities.
• Collaborate with general‑education teachers to integrate accommodations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and IEP goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and coordinate with families and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with licensing and endorsement requirements.

Required profile

• Valid teaching license.
• Special Education endorsement (K‑12+).
• Experience or training working with mild to moderate disabilities.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student development.

Required skills

• Knowledge of special‑education laws and regulations.
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Classroom management strategies for special‑needs learners.
