Special Support English Teacher for Primary Students

About the role
The Special Support English Teacher will work with Upper and Lower Primary learners to improve their English language proficiency, enabling them to follow the UNEB curriculum effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Review diagnostic assessments, student work and teacher reports to gauge each learner’s English level.
- Develop tailored termly schemes of work, weekly/monthly planners, worksheets and other learning materials.
- Provide in‑class support and pull‑out sessions to enhance English proficiency.
- Utilise e‑learning tools, with approval, to reinforce reading and language skills.
- Monitor daily progress and submit weekly individual progress reports to senior staff.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (English specialization) or a BA with a recognised TEFL/TESOL qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching English to non‑native speakers.
- Empathetic, patient and able to work with small groups or individually.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication abilities.
- Experience working with refugees is an advantage.
