Summer Part-Time Custodian (School)

About the role

Join the facilities team at Heritage Elementary for a seasonal, part‑time position supporting the school’s daily operations during the summer months. Working under the Facility Manager, you will help keep the building and grounds clean, safe, and ready for the upcoming school year.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
• Maintain sanitation standards and ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Set up and break down equipment for special events and activities.
• Respond to work requests from school staff, providing timely assistance.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facility Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Reliable attendance for a summer schedule of 5.9 hours per day over 52 days.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices.
