Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Support Engineer to join the Managed Services delivery team for the Ericsson Wallet Platform. The role focuses on ensuring system stability, performance and lifecycle management for mobile financial services used by millions across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite support for system stability, patching, failover preparation and verification.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform preventive maintenance and execute proactive/reactive maintenance activities.
• Investigate, debug and reproduce issues, deliver fixes or work‑arounds and verify changes.
• Prepare incident reports, secure root‑cause analysis from third‑party and L3 support.
• Contribute to meeting Managed Services SLAs and KPIs defined in customer contracts.
• Support release and deployment management, mentor junior staff and create knowledge‑base entries.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and shift roster to provide 24×7 coverage.
• Act as the customer interface for change requests, service requests and technical queries.

Required profile

• Degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
• Solid experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Hands‑on experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python or Ansible.
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Grafana and Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle databases and financial‑sector applications is advantageous.
• ITIL/eTOM certification or knowledge is a merit.
