Accountant – Project Finance (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

World Vision Uganda is seeking an Accountant to support a climate‑smart agriculture project in refugee settlements. The role will ensure that project funds are managed transparently, efficiently, and in line with donor regulations and international accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, process payments, receipts, journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure all expenditures are properly authorized, supported and recorded.
• Prepare and support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
• Monitor expenditures against approved budgets, analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Generate timely financial statements and donor reports, and provide compliance documentation.
• Maintain internal controls and promote value‑for‑money throughout the project.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with experience in managing donor‑funded projects.
• Familiarity with donor regulations, organizational policies, international accounting standards and Ugandan government requirements.
• Strong analytical ability to support financial planning and reporting.
