Assistant Communications Coordinator

About the role

The Assistant Communications Coordinator will support Restless Development Uganda’s youth‑led change agenda by helping to amplify young people’s voices across the country. Working within the communications team, the role assists in internal recruitment, coordination of the Uganda Youth Collective and the delivery of safeguarding‑compliant communications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in internal recruitment processes for youth‑led projects.
• Support the coordination of the Uganda Youth Collective, a platform of over 600 youth‑led organisations.
• Help develop and disseminate communication materials that highlight youth employment initiatives in Karamoja, West Nile, Eastern and Central Uganda.
• Ensure all communications adhere to Restless Development’s safeguarding policy.
• Contribute to the creation of content that showcases the impact of youth‑led organisations and promotes policy influence.

Required profile

• Strong interest in youth empowerment and community development.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and commitment to protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse youth‑led organisations and stakeholders.
