Branch Manager – Arua & Packwach

About the role

The Branch Manager will lead the Arua and Packwach branches of Watu Credit Uganda Ltd, driving loan sales, ensuring high‑quality customer service and managing day‑to‑day operations. Reporting to the Regional Manager for the Northern Region, the role combines business development, stakeholder engagement and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Watu Credit in the branch territory and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders such as Boda‑Boda associations, police, city council and URA.
• Develop and nurture partnerships with motorbike dealers to secure stock delivery, after‑sales support and favourable credit terms.
• Allocate tasks, supervise staff, conduct performance appraisals and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Achieve loan intake targets by guiding the sales team, monitoring pipelines and ensuring loan processing within two hours.
• Enforce credit‑risk policies, monitor loan portfolio quality and support asset‑recovery teams.
• Oversee the full customer journey from onboarding to query resolution and final logbook issuance.
• Manage branch resources, petty cash, utility payments and propose cost‑efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in branch or retail management within the financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of loan processing, credit risk assessment and asset finance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Leadership skills with a track record of motivating teams to meet sales targets.
