Child Protection Project Manager

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a motivated professional to lead the DK Media Child Protection project in Rhino Camp and Imvepi refugee settlements, Uganda. The role focuses on designing, implementing and monitoring high‑quality child protection interventions for vulnerable children, including unaccompanied and separated children.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement the child protection project across designated refugee settlements.
• Develop context‑sensitive strategies and technical guidance for protection programming.
• Oversee case management, alternative care, positive parenting, adolescent life‑skills and community‑based protection activities.
• Ensure monitoring, quality assurance and reporting meet donor and organisational standards.
• Coordinate with partners, local authorities and community structures to strengthen protection outcomes.

Required profile

• Relevant higher‑education qualification in social sciences, humanitarian studies, or related field.
• Proven experience in child protection programming within refugee or humanitarian contexts.
• Strong understanding of the West Nile refugee response environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑stakeholder teams and manage project budgets.
