Client Relations Officer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, customer‑focused Client Relations Officer to join the Asset Finance Department of Watu Uganda. The role involves end‑to‑end client engagement, from lead generation and product presentation to onboarding, after‑sales support and issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Generate leads through walk‑ins, referrals and proactive outreach, supporting customer campaigns and satisfaction surveys.
• Present asset‑finance products (boda‑boda, mobile phones and other Watu offerings) and conduct pre‑assessment of clients’ financial standing.
• Perform thorough KYC, verify documentation, guarantors, referees and next‑of‑kin details, and upload accurate records.
• Explain loan agreements, repayment schedules and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulations.
• Provide face‑to‑face and phone‑based customer support, educate clients on product usage, payment methods and value‑added services.
• Resolve product or service issues, troubleshoot queries, and escalate unresolved matters such as theft, replacements, insurance, GPS and servicing.
• Assist Watu app users with basic technical issues including updates, login failures, PIN resets and device changes.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date database of customer interactions, loan processing and asset management activities.
• Participate in training sessions and contribute feedback for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑centric attitude.
• Ability to assess financial information and make suitable product recommendations.
• Attention to detail for accurate KYC and documentation handling.
• Problem‑solving mindset and capacity to manage multiple client requests.
• Team player willing to participate in training and share best practices.
