Communications Associate - Brand and Design

About the role

UNOPS is seeking a Communications Associate focused on brand and design to support its communications activities in Kampala, Uganda. The position is based in the Kamwokya district of Kampala and reports to the Communications team. The role will contribute to the development and delivery of communication materials that enhance UNOPS' visibility and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of communications, public relations, and media activities.
• Support brand and design initiatives, including the creation of graphic and video content.
• Collaborate with multicultural teams and UN system partners in a developing‑country context.
• Contribute to content development for grassroots‑level audiences and monitor its effectiveness.

Required profile

• Secondary school (or equivalent) with six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with two years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in communications, public relations, media, journalism or related fields.
• Experience working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country (desired).
• Experience in development or humanitarian contexts (desired).
• Experience creating content for grassroots‑level audiences (desired).
• A globally or nationally recognized professional certificate in communications, journalism, or digital and social media communications (desired).

Required skills

• Use of graphic design, video production, and content creation tools (desired).
