About the role
The Deputy Representative plays a leading role in designing and delivering the UNFPA Country Programme, building alliances with governments, UN agencies, donors and civil society to advance the 2030 Agenda and improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, manage and monitor the UNFPA Country Programme in line with the strategic plan and national demographic data.
- Lead national capacity development for ICPD commitments, providing technical assistance and fostering research institutions.
- Build and maintain partnerships with government, UN agencies, donors and civil society to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation and reporting, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and humanitarian preparedness.
Required profile
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in international development, programme design and resource mobilization.
- Proven ability to lead senior staff, manage budgets and represent UNFPA at high‑level forums.
