Engineering Assistant

About the role

The Engineering Assistant will provide technical oversight for the Mountain Blue construction project in the Northern Region. Reporting to the Regional Infrastructure Engineer and Program Managers, you will help ensure that building and water system works meet design standards and serve vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Regional Engineer in supervising construction activities, from design and BoQ preparation to procurement and implementation.
• Lead community mobilisation teams to involve beneficiaries in design, construction, and maintenance.
• Coordinate with district officials and stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Supervise contractors and project staff, monitoring progress and quality.
• Develop monitoring tools, conduct M&E, and produce weekly updates and monthly reports.
• Facilitate training for community operation and maintenance committees.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience in design and construction supervision with a development agency.
• Valid riding license.
• Practicing Christian and active church member.
• Good command of oral and written English; local language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with ArchiCAD.
• Experience with EPANET.
• GPS mapping software proficiency.
