HR Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead our human resources function in Kampala. The role will partner with program managers and leadership to foster a diverse, inclusive and high‑performing workplace while aligning HR strategy with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with program managers, leadership teams and functional stakeholders to promote a diverse, inclusive, and productive workplace culture.
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives, operational requirements and company values.
• Provide strategic HR guidance on workforce development, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, employee relations, investigations and disciplinary actions.
• Collaborate with recruiters and operations to assess staffing needs and improve recruitment processes.
• Ensure compliance with local, national and international labor laws and monitor HR practices.
• Lead multiple HR projects, performance management processes and training initiatives across locations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of progressive HR experience, including generalist and strategic leadership responsibilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate with recruitment, operations and management teams.
• Extensive experience in employee relations, investigations and disciplinary actions.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor practices and HR compliance.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Valid passport with ability to travel internationally and obtain required visas.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with HR management systems.
