Livestock Officer – Climate Smart Agriculture Project

About the role

World Vision Uganda is seeking a Livestock Officer to lead climate‑smart livestock interventions in refugee settlements and host communities in northern Uganda. The role provides technical leadership and field‑level support to improve livestock productivity, animal health, nutrition, and household resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Implement climate‑smart livestock production interventions across target areas.
• Promote sustainable husbandry practices, improved breeds, and climate‑resilient technologies.
• Support fodder production, pasture development, and feed‑conservation initiatives.
• Facilitate livestock‑based livelihood activities to boost income and food security.
• Coordinate disease surveillance, vaccination, deworming, and treatment campaigns with veterinary authorities.
• Train farmers on animal health management, biosecurity, and climate adaptation strategies.
