Logistics Operations Supervisor – East Africa

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Operations Supervisor to lead project logistics across East Africa, overseeing the end‑to‑end flow from origin to final destination. The role ensures milestones are met, risks are mitigated, and customers receive high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise execution of all project logistics operations, ensuring timelines and milestones are achieved.
• Lead planning meetings and operational reviews to align logistics deliverables.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, local regulations and international trade rules.
• Review and validate shipping and commercial documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, government agencies and other stakeholders to optimise logistics processes.
• Act as first‑line escalation point for operational and customer service issues.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular engagement and proactive communication.
• Supervise and mentor Project Logistics Operations Administrators and Coordinators, allocating workload and monitoring performance against KPIs.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback and identify training needs.
• Monitor project files, documentation and data governance to ensure timely and compliant execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing logistics or supply‑chain operations, preferably in a project environment.
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations and customs requirements.
• Excellent risk‑assessment and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Leadership experience supervising teams and driving performance.
