Operator in Responsible Charge

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Operator in Responsible Charge to manage water treatment and distribution operations for a U.S. Navy program. The role is based in Kampala, Uganda, and requires ensuring water quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and maintenance of water treatment plants (WTP) and distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including CNIC M-5090.1A.
• Supervise certified plant operators and technicians.
• Maintain current Level III Treatment and Level III Distribution operator certifications.
• Conduct regular inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and performance records.
• Oversee water testing and reporting to meet quality assurance standards.
• Communicate effectively with internal staff and stakeholders in English.

Required profile

• Certified Level III Treatment and Level III Distribution operator.
• 1‑3 years of experience in water treatment, distribution systems, or similar plants.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and comply with deployment standards.
