Programme Officer - Youth Engagement

About the role

Restless Development Uganda is seeking a Programme Officer to lead youth‑engagement activities across its projects in Karamoja, West Nile, Eastern and Central Uganda. The officer will work closely with young leaders, partner organisations and government stakeholders to ensure youth voices shape programme design, implementation and evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor youth‑engagement components of the youth employment portfolio.
• Facilitate coordination among the Uganda Youth Collective and its 600+ member organisations.
• Support capacity‑building workshops for youth‑led organisations and young entrepreneurs.
• Collect and analyse data on programme outcomes, preparing reports for donors and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with Restless Development’s safeguarding policies and power‑shifting principles.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary education in development studies, social sciences or a related field.
• Experience working with youth‑led organisations or community‑based programmes in Uganda.
• Strong understanding of youth employment challenges and inclusive development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Project planning and monitoring tools.
• Data collection and basic analysis (e.g., Excel, survey software).
• Facilitation and workshop delivery.
