Technical Support Engineer - Networks & Systems

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer – Networks & Systems will join Every Solution Ltd’s IT managed‑services team in Kampala. You will provide hands‑on support for network and system infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for internal users and client environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system performance and respond to support tickets promptly.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Configure, update, and maintain network devices and servers.
• Perform system administration tasks such as user management, backups, patching, and security configuration.
• Document incidents, solutions, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with team members on improvement projects and technology deployments.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for network and system problems.
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with users and clients.
• Ability to work on‑site in Kampala, manage multiple priorities, and work in a team‑oriented environment.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent training in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

Required skills

• Networking concepts: TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls.
• Operating systems: Windows, Linux.
• System administration: user management, backups, patching, security configuration.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft or Linux certifications) are an advantage.
