Deck Cadet – Entry Level Maritime Position

About the role
Anthony Veder is seeking a Deck Cadet to join its fleet. The cadet will support safe and efficient vessel operations while gaining hands‑on experience under the guidance of senior Deck Officers. This entry‑level position offers exposure to navigation, cargo handling and deck maintenance.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with navigation tasks such as chart plotting and monitoring weather conditions.
- Support cargo operations, including loading, unloading and securing cargo.
- Perform routine maintenance on deck equipment and machinery.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency response training.
- Follow company policies and industry regulations to ensure compliance.
Required profile
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid STCW Basic Safety Training certification.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging weather conditions.
- Willingness to work onboard vessels for extended periods.
Required skills
- STCW Basic Safety Training certification.
- Basic knowledge of navigation and maritime regulations.
