Demand Planner – Uganda

About the role

As part of Glovo’s Quick Commerce (Q‑commerce) unit, the Demand Planner supports the Micro Fulfilment Centers (MFCs) vertical in Uganda. The role focuses on accurate demand forecasting, strategic purchasing and inventory optimisation to meet customer expectations while minimising waste.

Key responsibilities

• Improve forecast accuracy using historical sales data, adjusting for promotions, seasonal trends, special events and new products.
• Collaborate with category management, marketing and operations to align forecasts with supply‑chain capabilities.
• Maintain purchasing tool parameters such as safety stocks and bank holidays to optimise inventory.
• Create purchase orders, monitor supplier deliveries and manage replenishment for MFCs.
• Enhance supplier performance by communicating expectations, addressing issues and developing improvement plans.
• Monitor and report supply‑chain KPIs for Uganda, analysing availability, turnover, shrinkage and fill rates.
• Identify risks and opportunities from data analysis and drive action plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a Supply‑Chain/Operations discipline.
• At least two years of experience in demand or supply planning.
• Strong business judgment, written and oral communication skills and a pragmatic approach.
• Ability to analyse data, think critically and make data‑driven decisions.
• Fluent English proficiency.
