Finance Manager

About the role

Palmpay, a fast‑growing Pan‑African fintech, is looking for a proactive Finance Manager to safeguard the company’s financial health. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities while supporting strategic growth across our markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop long‑term financial strategies, conduct budgeting and forecasting to guide the organization.
• Prepare accurate financial reports and ensure compliance with Ugandan regulations.
• Direct investment activities and analyse data to support growth and profitability.
• Perform cost analysis, monitor expenses, and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Lead and develop the finance team, including hiring and training.
• Assess financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Communicate financial performance and strategies to senior management and investors.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• CPA, ACCA or CIMA certification and membership in a recognized professional body.
• Ugandan citizenship.
• 5+ years in senior financial management, preferably in banking or fintech.
• Strong background in financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ugandan tax law, financial regulations and risk management.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience with Sage, SAP or QuickBooks.
• Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP principles.
